What Is Responsible Gambling?

Responsible gambling means enjoying betting or online gaming as a form of entertainment — not as a source of income, an escape from problems, or an outlet for emotional stress. At CB44, we understand that for most Malaysian players, placing a bet on a Malaysia Super League match, spinning the slots on a lazy evening, or enjoying a weekend live casino session is simply a way to have fun together.

That said, CB44 also recognises that a small number of players may find it difficult to keep their gambling habits in check. This is not a sign of weakness — it is a problem that can happen to anyone, regardless of background or income level. That is why CB44 offers a wide range of tools, resources, and support to help players stay in control.

Healthy Gaming vs. Problem Gambling

The difference between healthy gambling and problem gambling is not how often you play or how much you wager — it lies in motivation and control. Healthy players play for fun, set limits they stick to, and can stop whenever they choose without difficulty. Problem players begin gambling out of compulsion, continue beyond the limits they've set, and find it hard to stop.

CB44 provides all the tools you need to stay on the healthy side — and if you feel you've crossed that line, we're here to help you get back on track.

💡 Always remember: Responsible gaming at CB44 starts with a simple principle — only bet with money you can afford to lose. Money set aside for bills, rent, food, or emergency savings should never be used for gambling, under any circumstances.

CB44's Core Principles on Responsible Gambling

CB44 operates on five core principles that underpin all of our responsible gambling policies and tools. First, we believe that players come first — your safety and wellbeing matter more to us than short-term profit. Second, we are committed to transparency — all information about gambling risks is stated clearly, never buried in fine print.

Third, we provide easy-to-use tools — effective self-control must be easy to access and quick to implement. Fourth, we don't judge — if you need help, the CB44 team will welcome you with empathy and without prejudice. Fifth, we believe in informed choice and control — a player who truly understands the risks is a safer player.

📋 How to Set Limits on CB44

1
Log in to your CB44 account
Access the CB44 platform via your smartphone or computer's web browser.
2
Click the profile icon / Account Settings
Look for the "Account Settings" or "Account Controls" menu at the top of the page or within the main menu.
3
Select "Responsible Gambling"
This section contains all of CB44's responsible gambling self-exclusion tools — deposit limits, loss limits, time limits, account pause, and self-exclusion.
4
Set your preferred limits
Enter an amount or duration that works for you. The CB44 system will verify and activate the limit immediately.
5
Receive email verification
CB44 will send you a confirmation email. Keep this email as proof that your limit has been successfully set.

⚠️ Important note on reducing limits: When you set a stricter limit (for example, lowering your deposit limit from RM200 to RM100), the change takes effect immediately. However, if you wish to increase limit you have set, the change will only take effect after a 7-day reflection period. This is a protective measure to give you time to reconsider before the change is applied.

📞 Need help? If you're unsure how to set a limit or run into any technical issues, the CB44 support team is ready to help via 24/7 Live Chat or by email at support@cb44.life. We'll walk you through it step by step.

💡 Recommended Sensible Limits
• Daily deposit limit: No more than 5% of your daily income
• Weekly loss limit: Set a threshold you're comfortable writing off without it affecting your daily life
• Time limit: Maximum 2 hours per day to maintain a healthy life balance
• Mandatory break: Take at least one day off from playing every week

⚠️ Signs of Problem Gambling

Recognising the early warning signs is the most important first step. If you or someone you know is displaying any of the following signs, please seek help immediately.

01
Betting Beyond Your Financial Means

Using bill money, grocery funds, or emergency savings to gamble — or borrowing money solely to play.

02
Chasing Losses

Continuing to play or increasing bet amounts in the hope of winning back money already lost.

03
Hiding Activity from Family

Lying about the time spent gambling, or hiding losses and betting activity from loved ones.

04
Unable to Stop Even When You Want To

Intending to stop or cut back on gambling but repeatedly failing to do so — feeling powerless to control your playing habits.

05
Gambling Is Affecting Daily Life

Work, studies, family relationships, or health are starting to suffer due to the time and money spent on gambling.

06
Gambling to Escape Problems

Using gambling as a way to cope with stress, sadness, anxiety, or life problems — rather than purely for entertainment.

✅ 8 Tips for Playing Responsibly at CB44

A practical guide to keeping your CB44 gaming experience enjoyable and in control.

01
Set a Budget Before You Play
Decide on an amount you're comfortable spending before you open the platform. Think of it like a cinema ticket or a dinner out — money set aside for entertainment.
02
Never Chase Your Losses
Once you've reached your loss limit, stop the session. Chasing losses only leads to bigger losses — it's the most common trap players fall into.
03
Take Regular Breaks
Set time reminders and take a break of at least 15 minutes every hour. This helps you maintain a clear perspective and make more rational decisions.
04
Don't Play When You're Emotionally Unstable
Avoid playing when you feel sad, stressed, angry, or emotionally unstable. Your emotional state directly affects your betting decisions.
05
Understand That Losses Are Normal
All slot and casino games carry a house edge. Long-term winnings are never guaranteed — enjoy the experience of playing itself, not just the wins.
06
Never Borrow Money to Gamble
No matter how confident you feel, never borrow money — whether from family, friends, or any other source — to use as gambling funds.
07
Use CB44's Limit Tools
Make full use of the deposit limit, loss limit, and time limit tools CB44 provides. Setting limits in advance is far easier than trying to stop on your own in the heat of the moment.
08
Maintain a Healthy Life Balance
Make sure gambling doesn't eat into time that should be spent with family, at work, on other recreation, or looking after your health. Balance is the key to healthy entertainment.

❓ FAQs — CB44 Responsible Gambling

Deposit limits that are stricter (lowering a limit) will take effect immediately as soon as you save the changes in your account settings. Limits that are more lenient (increasing a limit) will only take effect after a 7-day reflection period — a deliberate protective measure CB44 has built in to give you time to think it over.

No — CB44's self-exclusion is binding and cannot be reversed before the minimum period expires. This is by design — self-exclusion is the most serious tool available and should only be used when you are truly committed to taking an extended break from gambling. If you need immediate assistance, please contact our support team.

Your actual cash balance will remain safe and can be withdrawn at any time during the self-exclusion period — you do not need to wait for the period to end before making a withdrawal. Contact the CB44 support team to initiate the withdrawal process. Bonus balances will be forfeited.

No. When you activate an account pause or self-exclusion, CB44 will automatically stop all promotional and marketing communications to you. This includes promotional emails, bonus notifications, and any messages related to gaming offers. You will only receive essential account-related communications when necessary.

Talian Kasih (1800-18-1800) offers free 24-hour counselling. Government hospitals in Malaysia also provide mental health services, including counselling for addiction.
